Oregon: That was impressive. The underDucks shock the Buckeyes on the road for their first-ever win versus Ohio State and become the newest first place team.
Penn State: I expected Ball State to be more competitive. The Nittany Lions had other thoughts. Happy Valley welcomes 2-0 Auburn next Saturday.
Rutgers: I think the Scarlet Knights are Big East contenders following wins over Temple and Syracuse.
Georgia: The Bulldogs deliver a UABeatdown and host 2-0 South Carolina next weekend.
Iowa: It is still a Hawkeye state! The defense is playoff caliber. The offense needs to be more productive if the Hawkeyes want to contend for the Big Ten title and a shot at the playoffs.
Texas A&M: Whew! The Aggies escape Colorado with a late touchdown to avoid the brink of playoff elimination.
Virginia Tech: The Hokies handle Middle Tennessee and face a tough road challenge versus West Virginia next weekend.
Mississippi State: The Bulldogs followed up a miracle comeback win with a surprisingly easy win over North Carolina State.
UCLA: Week 1’s first place team had Week 2 off and faces Fresno State, Week 0’s first place team, in Week 3. In Week 1, the Bulldogs put a scare in Week 2’s first place Oregon Ducks. Got that?
Boise State/Illinois: What are these two teams doing here? The Broncos and the Fighting Illini own the only wins versus two-win FBS teams and their three combined losses have yet to catch up with them.
Two down, two to go: The 2020 CFP field has suffered two losses with Notre Dame pulling off two narrow escapes. Of course, Clemson and Ohio State are not out of playoff contention. Both teams have won CFP titles following a regular season loss. Alabama visits 2-0 Florida and Notre Dame hosts 2-0 Purdue.
FCS: Duquesne and Jacksonville State make it seven and eight wins for the FCS over FBS opponents. The Gamecocks stunned Florida State with a walk-off 59-yard touchdown pass. All eight FBS winners are placed among the top 15, but the CAA accounts for three top four teams including first place New Hampshire.
