For those of you who didn’t follow my bets last year, let me introduce myself! My name is Brady Altland – I’ve been a die-hard College Football fan my entire life. Growing up in Southern PA, Penn State football was always a prominent part of my life. Now, as a 26-year-old mega college football fan, I have season tickets to Penn State football and Bleed Blue & White. I may be the only person in my family and friend groups who prefers college football to the NFL, but there’s just something special about football on Saturdays. From growing up admiring Larry Johnson at Penn State, to staying up late to watch Reggie Bush and USC in the Rose Bowl, to cheering on Jamarcus Russell during his time at LSU, and now routing for the next generation of greats at PSU; college football has always been home to me and there’s nothing quite like it!

Each week, I pick 3 “locks” in College Football that you should hammer. While I’ll make all these bets myself, please remember that sports betting is just that, a bet. Hopefully, we will all get lucky and I’ll go on a CFB betting run. Each week moving forward, I’ll recap last week’s action, talk about my picks, go over my overall record and give my 3 “locks” of the week.

Week ZERO Bets:

UTEP vs. North Texas ML (-105): UTEP finished their 2021 season with 7 wins and a bowl appearance, so they will be riding that success into this season. North Texas started 1-6 last year, so I expect them to also have a slow start to the year this season. UTEP averaged nearly 400 yards and 25 points per game in 2021, and they are returning seven starters on offense, including starting QB Gavin Hardison. He is behind an offensive line that returns three Honorable Mention All-Conference USA members, and leading rusher Ronald Awatt is back as well.

Connecticut vs. Utah State over 59.5 points (-110): Utah State played outstanding during the 2021 season, which included an 11-3 record and the Mountain West title. Utah State is favored by 26.5 over UConn and will absolutely dominate this game. Utah State might score 45+ on their own and while UConn is awful, they added some decent offensive talent in the transfer portal and with it being the first game of the season, I can see them scoring 20+ points themself.

New Mexico State +8.5 vs. Nevada (-110): New Mexico State might be one of the worst teams in College Football, but getting 9.5 to open the season is a lot of points. By no means do I think NMSU will upset Nevada, but I think they will keep it a one-score game.

I am personally going to parlay these three bets together to get some better odds. Let’s see if we can start the season 3-0! Prayers up for these bets to hit. See you next week, let’s make some MONEY!
