Early Signing Day (ESD) has come and gone and now it’s time to analyze it and dream of our rosters for next year. This series we’ll look into each team in the ACC (and Notre Dame) and go over who signed (scholarship signees only) and what my humble opinion is on each respective team’s ESD class. The order in which I will go over each team is determined by their rank in the standings after the ACC championship – so naturally we will start with the 2022 ACC champions, Clemson.

Biggest Needs

Clemson is slated to lose a plethora of Defensive Line, so reloading at this position was a must – and they did, signing 6 players at the position, highlighted by 5-star Alabama product Peter Woods (also the highest ranked player in Clemson’s class).

Another notably thin position group is WR, which the Tigers went out and grabbed 4 at the position. This position group is highlighted by Texas product Noble Johnson and Massachusetts product Ronan Hanafin. The Tigers also flipped former Indiana commit, convincing Tyler Brown the Greenville, SC product to stay home. Keep an eye on 3-star Misun Kelley as he will be primarily a receiver but will cross train at defensive back.

Highlight

The position class to take note on, is the offensive line as this group is the highest rated class in Clemson history with two Texas natives Ian Reed and Harris Sewell and Georgia native Zechariah “Flapjack” Owens.

My Favorite 3 Grabs:

• Zechariah Owens – Flapjack Owens is big, athletic, and MEAN. Don’t get fooled by his large frame, this kid has great feet and does a great job blocking in space – one of the hardest things to do as an OL. Don’t believe that this kid is an outstanding athlete? Check out this video.

• Noble Johnson – Noble Johnson is a playmaker with great size. This kid is going to be tough to keep off the field, which is a great problem to have.

• Jarvis Green – Green was recruited late in the process out of Dutch Fork in Irmo, SC, but don’t get it twisted, this kid can ball. He’s got a great stiff arm and vision with the ball in his hands.
