Week 5 Top stories:
4 Undefeated Teams Remain: After week 5 of the CFB season, only Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Maryland remain undefeated. Maryland & Ohio State play this weekend so we will be down to 3 teams after this weekend.
Iowa QB Cade McNamara out for season with ACL injury: RIP to Iowa’s goal of scoring 25 points per game. With Cade McNamara out for the season, I don’t see Iowa’s offense hitting close to 25 PPG. Even with McNamara, they weren’t going to get to 25 PPG, but now the bad offense gets even worse.
Michigan FINALLY looked like the best team in the B1G: Michigan hasn’t looked like the #2 teams in the country or the best team in the B1G through the first 4 weeks of the season, but after a dominant win over Nebraska, they are starting to show that they are the same team from last year.
Penn State has to figure out the slow starts: As a Penn State fan, I’ve been frustrated with how PSU has started a few of their games so far this year. Their first half against Northwestern was terrible, if they expect to compete against Michigan or Ohio State, they NEED to address the slow starts, particularly on offense.
Urban Meyer to Michigan State?!: I have no idea where the rumor that Urban Meyer was interested in coming back to coach college football came from, but the reports that he was interested in replacing Mel Tucker at Michigan State is 100% false as of now…it is hilarious that his name was brought up though. I don’t think The Spartans want to go from one coaching scandal to another one.

B1G Player of the Week: Taulia Tagovailoa
Most people know Taulia as “Tua’s little brother”, but the 23 year old signal caller for the Maryland Terps had himself a weekend after going off for 352 yards & 5 touchdowns.
Week 6 Preview:
Game of the week: Rutgers Vs. Wisconsin
One of the most underrated matchups in CFB this week features a buzzing Rutgers team & an under the radar Wisconsin team. This one should be a low scoring, ground & pound style game featuring two excellent running backs.
Upset of the week: Maryland Vs. Ohio State
Maryland typically plays well against the Buckeyes and with both squads being undefeated, you’d assume this would be my game of the week, however Ohio State is a 19.5 point favorite as of Wednesday. Let’s see who Maryland really is against this dominant Ohio State team.
Players to Watch:
- Taulia Tagovailoa (Maryland QB): Coming off one of the best games of his life, Tagovailoa needs to bring his A game as Maryland battles undefeated Ohio State in week 6.
- Kyle McCord (OSU QB): Much like Tagovailoa, McCord is coming off their bye week after the best game of his career against Notre Dame two weeks ago. I’m excited to see how he can follow up his special performance against undefeated Maryland.
- Marvin Harrison Jr. (OSU WR): We all know MHJ is a dawg at WR, but the last time we saw him on the field, he was beat up. Will be watching him this weekend to see if he’s 100% healthy and how OSU will use him if he’s not.
- Deacon Hill (Iowa QB): I mentioned that Iowa’s starting QB, McNamara is out for the season with a torn ACL. I don’t know a ton about their backup Deacon Hill, but he has a cool ass name and honestly can’t be that much worse than McNamara has played so far this year. I’m excited to see if he can bring a much needed spark to the Hawkeyes offense.
