Week 7 Top stories:

Midseason All American List Dropped: Via ESPN, the midseason All American list includes B1G players: OT: Olumuyiwa Fashanu (Penn State), OG: Zak Zinter (Michigan), DT: Tyleik Williams (Ohio State), CB: Cooper DeJean (Iowa), P: Tory Taylor (Iowa). Notable snubs include: Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State), Kalen King (Penn State), Cade Stover (Ohio State), Jay Higgins (Iowa), Denzel Burke (Ohio State).

Ohio State & Michigan Win BIG in key B1G Matchups: Both powerhouse schools in the B1G got key wins over B1G opponents. Ohio State blew out Purdue 41-7, Michigan routed Indiana 52-7.

Iowa wins lousy game against Wisconsin: It’s no surprise that Iowa failed to score 20+ points this week, but I didn’t expect them to get the win over Wisconsin. Winning 15-6, Iowa kept Wisconsin out of the end zone and pretty much only won the game because of their all star punter.

Maryland falls to Illinois: Maryland falls back to back weeks after struggling against an inferior opponent, Illinois. I personally feel that this game means more about how good Illinois is, instead of how “bad” Maryland is.

Northwestern tied for 3rd in West Division: Against all odds, Northwestern finds themselves at 3-3 and tied for 3rd in the B1G West.

B1G Co-Player of the Week: Iowa’s Tory Taylor & Penn State’s Daequan Hardy: This week we’re showing love to the B1G special teams heroes of the week. Tory Taylor of Iowa single handley won the game for them against Wisconsin by constantly pinning the Badger offense deep in their own territory. Additionally, Penn State’s Daequan Hardy returned TWO punt returns for touchdowns in Saturday’s win. Hardy became the first PSU player to ever record two punt return TDs in a single game.

Week 8 Preview:

Game of the week: Penn State at Ohio State –  While Ohio State owns this rivalry in recent years, it tends to be an exhilarating 60 minutes of football. I’ll be live at The Shoe this weekend for the first time & can’t wait to see these two giants go head to head Saturday morning. #WeAre!

Upset of the week: Michigan at Michigan St. – I can’t be the only one who remembers and romanticizes the epic Michigan State punt block against Michigan from 2014. Anytime these two teams meet, there’s a chance for an exciting game. While Michigan is CLEARLY the better team on the field and on paper, you never know who will win this one. With a 7:30 ET start on NBC, this one screams upset potential.

Position Matchup of the week: Marvin Harrison Jr. Vs. Kalen King & Johnny Dixon: Marvin Harrison Jr. might be the best WR prospect of all time & very much has a chance to be a top 2 pick in this year’s NFL draft. Penn State’s secondary led by Kalen King & Johnny Dixon is one of the best in the nation. Marvin Harrison Jr. is ALWAYS going to get his; I don’t think it matters how PSU defends him on Saturday, he will still put up 100+ yards, but if they can contain him & potentially shut him down, PSU has a great chance to pull off the upset.
