Moose’s Top 5 Games of the Week 11

The Week 11 headlines read: the rivers run red with YouTube TV subscribers’ blood, as ESPN is holding us College Football fans hostage with yet another week seeming to be in the fray. However, with free trials of Fubo, Sling, or DirecTV, we football fans will find a way! Brief Recap of Last Week

1. 7 BYU at 8 Texas Tech

This is the biggest game in Lubbock since the Red Raiders hosted the Longhorns in 2008. Now Michael Crabtree won’t be donning the red and black, but this Texas Tech team is no joke. However, the Red Raiders are beating teams with their defense and good running game, more so than the high-powered passing attack that we’re used to. BYU comes in with a smashmouth offense and defense and can hang with anyone in the country. With Behren Morton being healthy, I think Texas Tech can top Bear Bachmeier and the Cougars.

2. 5 Georgia at Mississippi St.

Mississippi St. quietly has a high-powered offense, and the Bulldogs (of Georgia) have struggled on the defensive side of the ball in 2025 — at least to the standard that’s been built in Athens. The Bulldogs (of Mississippi St.) have been close against Texas and Tennessee, and they may be able to get over the hump against yet another top team. I just don’t think it happens this weekend, but it will be close.

3. 3 Texas A&M at 22 Missouri

Missouri is without starting quarterback Beau Pribula for the rest of the year, but have no fear, their top 10 defense is still here. And they better be ready as Texas A&M comes to Columbia with one of the more prolific offenses in the country. The Aggies can run the ball with anyone, and they may not be the most methodical passing attack, but when they do complete passes, they go for big gains. The Tigers starting a freshman for this game will cost them, especially if they can’t get top running back in the country, Ahmad Hardy, going. I think the Aggies will get a plethora of opportunities on offense to beat this stout defense.

4. 9 Oregon at 20 Iowa

This is one of the more coin-flip games in the country. Oregon has looked dominant against weaker opponents but has struggled when facing similar talent (Penn St. and Indiana). Iowa, on the other hand, started off slow but has found its identity with transfer QB Mark Gronowski — and you guessed it, the identity is running the football a thousand times and playing suffocating defense. Can Dante Moore and company do enough to beat the Hawkeye defense in Kinnick Stadium, or will the Hawkeyes keep the hot streak rolling at home?

5. Nebraska at UCLA

UCLA is riding high since firing head coach Deshaun Foster, but they got sobered quickly after facing the Indiana Hoosiers. Dylan Raiola got hurt as the Cornhuskers fell victim to USC last week — despite holding the number 1 passing offense to 135 yards passing. If Dylan Raiola was healthy (he’s out for the season), I think this could be a blowout, but even if he isn’t, I think this Nebraska defense will travel well to Pasadena, California.
