After week 6, I really thought I was on a hot streak. I was coming off a 3-0 week and was 14-7 on the year, but week 7 was not so kind to me. After going 1-2 in week 7 and being humbled by the Sportsbook Gods, I go into week 8 of the CFB season 15-9 on the year (which honestly isn’t bad and I’ve made some good money so far off my bets). Here’s a recap of my horrendous week 7 in case you aren’t following along:
- L: Arkansas lost to Auburn and didn’t cover the spread
- W: Kentucky somehow covered 21.5 against Georgia
- L: Arizona State fell to Utah
Week 8 Bets:
Wake Forest -3.5 Over Army: Wake Forest has continued to play good ball all season. While Army is a serviceable team, Wake Forest will pull this one out. 3.5 points is a lot considering this will be a lower scoring game, but I’m confident WF can pull out a win and cover the spread.
Clemson +3.5 Against Pittsburgh: Look, I get it – Clemson has SUCKED this year. I may be crazy for thinking they can win this one, but there is just too much hype over Kenny Pickett and the Pittsburg squad. I’m confident that Clemson will go out and get the “upset” win, but at the very least I think they can hold it to a 3 point game. That extra 0.5 makes this bet too good to pass up.
Utah -2.5 Over Oregon State: I haven’t had great luck betting against Utah this year, so you know what they say – if you can’t beat them, join them! While I can’t say that I really love Utah, I do think they are a much better team than WSU and can win this one by at least a field goal.
