Brief Recap of Last Week

Last Week’s Results
Season Results

– I vow to not pick against Texas Tech ever again. They just find a way to win (unless they’re playing Cincinnati for some reason). Texas Tech and new (old) QB Tommy Castellanos.

– Wisconsin scored 0 on Iowa and Iowa scored 30 on Wisconsin – neither of those make sense which makes this make complete sense.

– Georgia is back to who we thought they were. Kirby Smart and Co. responded against Florida.

– Wake Forest is exactly who WE think they are…apparently the CFP committee thought otherwise.

– Wow, Ohio St. may not make the playoff, but the worst news is, they don’t have anyone with a pulse that can keep Jeremiah Smith on his Heisman run…that’s a travesty for all of us.

1. 9 BYU at 3 Utah *Holy War

Yes the Holy War is happening too early in the day, but it will still be great. BYU has had a big win by topping Notre Dame, but followed that up by losing to *checks notes* UCF? Utah is undefeated and is coming off of a rock fight with Houston – one of the best teams in the Big12. BYU loves to run the football with stud running back LJ Martin and star QB Bear Bachmeier, but unfortunately for the Cougars, Martin will likely be out for this game. Give me the Devin Dampier and the Utah Utes to arise victoriousin this battle.

Utah 27 BYU 21

Utah -4.5

Under 48.5

2. 5 Alabama at 14 LSU

Death Valley is a tough place to play (trust me, I found out the hard way), and even though Keelon Russell has been battle tested this year. The biggest difference in this game will not be LSU’s homefield advantage, and it won’t be Keelon Russell’s athleticism, and it won’t be the Crimson Tide’s experience from this season…it’s Alabama being 119th in the country in sacks allowed and LSU being 2nd in the country in sacks. LSU, may run away with this one, folks.

LSU 34 Alabama 17

LSU -6

Under 52.5

3. 6 Kentucky at 13 Tennessee

Tennessee arguably has the best defense in the country and has one of the best home field advantages in the country. Tennessee also has the 116thranked passing offenses in the country…which will really make this tough for them to fend off the Wildcats. What Tennessee does have though is the 16th best rushing attack in the country that will be facing the 30th best rush defense in the country. I don’t like the odds of Tennessee in this one.

Kentucky 24 Tennessee 21

Kentucky +6.5

Over 56.5

4. 1 Miami at 11 Notre Dame

Let’s cut to the chase, Miami losing Heisman hopeful, Malachi Toney is a huge blow to the Hurricanes, who have been in some unsuspected opponents lately (FSU OT win, UNC 4th quarter comeback, etc.). Notre Dame went to Provo and came up just short against BYU, but have handled business otherwise. Miami has a stout running defense, but they lack in the passing game. Notre Dame, statistically, should win this game, but I think this is the statement game that Miami needs on their resume where they prove they are multi-faceted on offense.

Miami 30 Notre Dame 28

Miami +7.5

Over 55.5

5. 2 Georgia at 10 Ole Miss

Gunnar Stockton and company had their worst game in his career against Auburn as he turned the ball over 3 times. Other than that, they have been one of the most consistent teams in the country. Ole Miss is a top 10 team in the country, but you can’t call them consistent (see LSU, Florida, Texas, Louisville, and Missouri). I’ll give you a second to look up those results before you agree with me. I think consistency will prove to be the difference in this game, and we will again see why water is wet and Georgia is top 5 team in the country.

Georgia 38 Ole Miss 34

Georgia -3.5

Over 56.5
